POLINA OGIY

Born in Kharkov, Polina earned a Masters in Fine Art at the Moscow State Art and Design Academy before relocating to Sicily to expand her practice. Her work draws inspiration from Pointillism, an art movement stemming from the Impressionists in the early 20th century. Polina’s work is characterized by vibrant tones and a painterly finish. Thousands of brushstrokes illustrate the energy that surrounds and flows through her subjects.

  1. When did you first start making art?

What I remember is three years old. And in fact with the first breath begins the art of living. Desire and desire for creativity I showed up at an early age. Thanks to my parents, I had the freedom to choose what I love.

  1. How would you describe your style?

Pointillism, symbolism, impressionism, art deco, divisionism.

  1. How has your art evolved over the years?

Every day brings new discoveries and emotions. Every day with a brush in hands, or without in contemplation, with each sigh develops and is supplemented, and the skill to see and transfer the seen crystallizes. Seen in dreams or in reality. The magic of art extends to all spheres of life. The art of creating, reflecting and communicating the essence of things and phenomena. The very path of the artist includes many facets and it is not only painting and graphics and sculpture. For me, this is poetry (I write poetry) and music (I play the piano) and dance and yoga. The art is not one-sided, it is a crystal, and I am a crystal from different sides. First there was a long period of work with interiors and design, the creation of the subject’s world of the person gave a great experience in the form and organization of ideas in space. But painting and graphics always went in parallel with this period of design. Then the painting came out on the main plan of creativity, with time the sculpture showed itself.

  1. What are the inspirations for your art? (music, nature, etc..)

Love. A life. Shine

  1. How does living in Italy influence your art?

Agrippa Nettesheim “On Secret Philosophy” astrology is the science of the influence of stars and planets, argues that the earth and countries are influenced by planets and stars. Like all earthly creatures. Sicily and Italy are ruled by the Sun with Leo. The sun personifies prana (the energy of life). The sun is creativity – this is light and enlightenment. Creativity in Italy is a very open process, the energy channel with the Logos and the Universe here is direct. The sky itself helps and creates. This is from a metaphysical point of view. Nature, sea, way of life. The love and patronage of Helios, to these lands, gave rise in Italy to the treasures of world culture and art. Naturally, inspiration comes here much brighter and more voluminous than in lands controlled by other planets.

  1. What are some of your favorite artists?

Vrubel. Roerich, Vasnetsov. Claude Monet. Van Gogh. Klimt, Dega, Gauguin Asher Maurits, Hokusai, Beardsley, Gaudi, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Rodin

  1. What is your creative process like?

My creative process does not have no beginning, not an end. I live and create always and everywhere. Technically, the creative process looks like just a canvas, paint, brush and the process of creation. Inspiration never leaves me.

  1. How long does it take you to complete a painting?

In general, in order to write a picture, the whole life is necessary, which fits and develops in time frames. From five minutes to three months. Time does not matter here. Time in creativity disappears like magnitude. This is love spilled on the canvas. And lovers do not watch watches. They create.

  1. What is a key element in creating a work?

I will repeat-love is the only power of creativity and creation. I do not know the other energy-creative.

  1. What do you want people to take away from your work? What do you want your work to make them feel?

People who contemplate my pictures do not owe me anything. They can be contemplatives of the fruits of my path as an artist who knows life. Each picture is a step in the knowledge of oneself and the Logos. Expressed in images and symbols. This is the material embodiment of my discoveries and knowledge. How to describe are true, which cannot be expressed in words. Only with the help of images or sounds, in harmony of the created color, in harmony laying line, in harmony seven notes and seven colors, seven planets and seven senses. The main thing that they could understand through my work is to know myself and the beauty of the creation of everything that exists in this sublunary world. Stop, breathe smoothly and calmly contemplating beauty. And through high vibrations of color and form to penetrate into the higher spheres of the universe, in order to find their way with the help of higher stars.
